Dear colleagues
In 2023 and 2025, the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland and the University Medical Library Basel have run the certified continuing education program CAS Systematic Review Information Specialist. CAS stands for “certificate of advanced studies” and is a standard European continuing education format that offers 10 ECTS points and an official academic degree upon graduation.
A new edition of the CAS program is scheduled for the year 2027 starting in January (application deadline 13 September 2026, early bird discount valid until 30 June 2026).
The program (January – December 2027) is reserved to maximally 16 participants, requires around 250 hours of work that are divided into 3 attendance blocks of 2.5 days each in Muttenz (near Basel, Switzerland), 48 online lessons, and a final thesis. We will host two online information events on Thu, 4 June and Thu, 13 August (both 6pm – 7pm CEST, requiring registration). For further information, including registration for the online information events, see https://www.fhnw.ch/en/life-sciences/continuing-education/offerings/programmes/cas-systematic-review-information-specialist
Main course language is English and hence a sufficient level of English (ca. level C1) is essential, but lecturers are also able to communicate in German for specific issues.
We are looking forward to welcoming you in one of the information events or in the CAS program!
Please also feel free to forward this information to your professional networks. Thank you very much in advance!
Best wishes
Thomas
